About

English coaching shaped by years of teaching real learners with real goals.

For over 20 years, I have taught executives, professionals, adult learners, and university students in South Korea and Japan, across 1:1, company, online, and in-person lessons.

My approach

I want learners to feel comfortable using the English they already have. That usually means lowering pressure first, then building confidence through regular speaking and useful correction.

From there, I help them focus on the next priorities, whether that is accuracy, vocabulary, listening, writing, or follow-up practice.

Examples of the English I teach

These are some of the lesson types I have worked on over time.

Workplace English

Meetings, presentations, email, and speaking practice for professionals who want to sound clearer and feel more comfortable at work.

Fluency and confidence

Conversation lessons for adults who want to build, rebuild, or strengthen their English, prepare for travel, or speak with more ease in daily life.

Study-abroad and academic English

In-depth discussion, daily communication, and academic writing support for students considering study abroad.

Development and tech English

English for developers who need to explain technical decisions, discuss implementation, and communicate more comfortably across teams.

Experience in practice

Over the years, this has included ongoing 1:1 coaching for executives and professionals at large Korean companies, along with lessons for adults who want to speak more comfortably in work and daily life.

I have also lectured at Kyungbok University and taught in the University of California, Riverside program in Korea, alongside broader teaching work in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do in South Korea and in Toyama and Chiba in Japan.
